1990-91 – General Khun Sa, warlord in Burma controlled 80% of the regions opium trade. In 1990 he was indicted in the US on federal drugs charges but remained a fugitive. In Mid 1991 he had deposited about $300 million in BCCI. The money was fed from Taiwan and Hong Kong.

8 Jan 2015 – 5.4 earthquake. NDTV Taipei, east of Taiwan which shook buildings in Taipei.

29 Jan 2015 – NZ packhouse charged with fraud. Hawkes Bay Today. Harrison Christian. Apple packhouse gets $40,000 fine for exporting apples to Taiwan. Matipou orchard ltd. Exporting apples to Taiwan and fraud.

4 Feb 2015 – Taiwan plane crashed with 58 passengers, crashed in the Taipei river. TVNZ One news. Trans Asia airways, two people died and dozens are trapped.
